Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By installing the MailSeen browser extension or creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use MailSeen.

2. What MailSeen does

MailSeen is a browser extension for Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers that adds email tracking to Gmail. When you send an email through MailSeen, we insert a tracking pixel and, where applicable, tracked links so we can show you when the message is opened, how many times, and when links inside it are clicked.

MailSeen connects to your Gmail account through Google's OAuth sign-in. Installing the extension from the Chrome Web Store is also subject to Google's own terms for that store.

3. Your account

You need a Google account to use MailSeen, and you are responsible for keeping that account and its credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your MailSeen account. If you suspect unauthorised access, notify us immediately at hello@mailseen.app.

4. Plans, billing, and cancellation

MailSeen offers a free Starter plan with unlimited email tracking, and a paid Pro plan billed monthly or annually in advance. All prices are shown in USD. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date, and no credit card is required to use the Starter plan.

You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. You keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period, after which your account reverts to the Starter plan.

If you cancel within 15 days of a paid purchase, you are eligible for a full refund. Contact hello@mailseen.app and we will process it promptly.

5. Acceptable use

You may use MailSeen for lawful purposes only. You may not use it to send spam or unsolicited bulk email, to distribute unlawful or infringing content, or to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or to other users' accounts.

You are responsible for complying with applicable email, privacy, and data protection laws — including any notice or consent requirements that apply where you use tracking — with respect to the recipients you send tracked emails to. MailSeen provides the tracking tool; you remain responsible for how you use it.

You may not attempt to reverse engineer, tamper with, or circumvent the tracking mechanisms, rate limits, or plan restrictions built into the extension. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate this policy without prior notice.

6. Your data and tracking data

MailSeen never reads, stores, or analyses the content of the emails you send or receive — tracking works entirely through pixel load and link click events. We do not use your data to train AI models.

When a recipient opens a tracked email or clicks a tracked link, we record an open or click event, a timestamp, an approximate location derived from IP address (country and city only), and device type. We do not store recipient email addresses or raw IP addresses. Full detail on what we collect and how long we keep it is in our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual property

MailSeen, its logo, and the extension software are the property of MailSeen and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, decompile, or distribute them without our written permission.

8. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability of the extension and tracking dashboard but do not guarantee uninterrupted access — tracking also depends on factors outside our control, such as a recipient's email client loading images. We may change or discontinue features at any time. For material changes we will give reasonable advance notice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MailSeen is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including missed or inaccurate open and click data. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

10. Termination

You may close your account or uninstall the extension at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination, your right to use the service ends and your data will be deleted according to our Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Dublin, Ireland.
