Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
1. Who we are
MailSeen ("we", "us", "our") provides a Gmail browser extension for email read receipts, open counts, and timestamps. This policy explains what data we collect when you use MailSeen, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.
2. What we collect
Account data. When you create an account we collect your email address and, optionally, your name. We use this to identify your account and send service-related messages.
Workspace content. We store the notes, documents, meeting summaries, tasks, and other content you add to your workspace. This content is used solely to provide the service to you.
Usage data. We collect information about how you use MailSeen — pages viewed, features used, emails tracked — to improve reliability and product quality.
Payment data. Subscription payments are processed by Paddle and Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. Paddle's and Stripe's respective privacy policies govern payment data processed through each.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to provide and improve MailSeen, to process payments, and to send you important service updates. We do not sell your data to third parties.
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers in the European Union. We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is restricted to authorised team members on a need-to-know basis.
5. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
We use Umami Cloud, a privacy-focused analytics service, to measure aggregate usage of this website and of the MailSeen browser extension. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal identifiers, and does not track you across other websites or products. Page-view and usage-event data is aggregated and IP addresses are anonymised. Because Umami Cloud is hosted by a third party, this aggregate data is processed on our behalf under Umami's data processing agreement.
6. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. You can exercise these rights from your account settings or by contacting us at info@mailseen.app.
You also have the right to withdraw consent, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and workspace content within 15 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.
8. Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to operate MailSeen, including Paddle and Stripe for payments, Umami for analytics, and cloud infrastructure providers for hosting. Each provider is bound by a data processing agreement and may not use your data for their own purposes.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app message.
